ICC Awards under Different Categories will be as below:

A. GENERAL CATEGORY:

  • ICC – K. V. MARIWALA AWARD FOR EFFECTIVE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY – ACADEMIA PARTNERSHIP
  • “ICC – DEEPAK NITRITE” ACHARYA P. C. RAY AWARD FOR DEVELOPMENT OF INDIGENOUS TECHNOLOGY
  • “ICC – ALKYL AMINES” PROF. M. M. SHARMA AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN PROCESS DESIGN & ENGINEERING

 B. AWARDS IN CATEGORY – I: For Companies having Annual Sales Revenue above Rs. 1000 Crores:

  • “ICC – VINATI ORGANICS” AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH & SAFETY
  • “ICC – EVONIK” AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN MANAGEMENT OF ENVIRONMENT
  • ICC AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN ENERGY CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT
  • ICC AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT IN THE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY
  1. Presentation of Awards:

The Awards will be given on the ICC Awards Presentation function to the Award Winning Companies.

2. Eligibility:

Any industrial unit in the chemical industry in India either in the public, private, or co-operative sector are eligible.

The participation is open to all the industrial units irrespective of whether they are ICC Members or not. However, for sending nominations, the industrial unit is expected to commit to the Responsible Care Initiative in the “Responsible Care – Undertaking Form” which is enclosed.

3. Selection Committee:

a) In making the Awards, the Executive Committee of the Indian Chemical Council will be assisted by the Awards Selection Committee constituted by the President, ICC at the beginning of each year and shall consist of the following:

i) Persons from amongst members of the Executive Committee giving representation to the various fields of the chemical industry.

ii) Outstanding Scientist from CSIR / National Laboratories / Research Institutes connected with the Chemical Industry.

iii) Outstanding Scientists from Universities / IITs / Industry.

iv) Nominee at the discretion of the President, ICC

b) The Regional Offices and Committees will actively participate in the process of ICC award selection, by encouraging companies, to apply for Award as also by supplementing data available to the Selection Committee.

c) There will be a Scrutinizing Committee consisting of members drawn from the Selection Committee which will consider all nominations received for the various Awards, seek clarifications and obtain additional information wherever necessary

d) The Scrutinizing Committee may obtain inputs from Award Winner of previous year for specific category in which they have got award.

e) The Scrutinising Committee members may/ may not visit plant facilities of the applicant if such visit is deemed necessary.

f) The Scrutinising Committee will make suggestions and provide their recommendations to the full Awards Selection Committee. The full Awards Selection Committee may/may not accept the suggestions/ recommendations as provide by the Scrutinizing Committee

g) The President of the Council will be the Chairman of the Awards Selection Committee.

h) If any member of the Selection Committee is connected with an industrial unit or organisation to be considered for an Award / Citation, the participation of such a member in the Selection Committee will be limited for the purpose of the Award / Citation for which his unit / organisation is not considered.

i) The ICC will make suitable announcements in newspapers / scientific and technical journals / electronic media/ social media and will invite nominations from members of the Council and others for the purpose of these Awards. Such nominations will be received by the Selection Committee on or before such dates as may be announce from time to time.

j) The Selection Committee will not consider a nomination from an ICC Award winner in the same area of achievement for a period of three years. However, if any company has won Certificate of Merit in the last three years, then the company is eligible to send nomination.

k) In exceptional circumstances, during any year, the Selection Committee may recommend an additional Award in the same area.

l) All the information received by the Selection Committee in the form of nominations for any Award will be treated as classified information in strictest confidence.

m) The Selection Committee will make its recommendations to the Executive Committee of the ICC. The decision of the Executive Committee on the Awards will be final and no correspondence will be entertained by the ICC in this behalf thereafter in regards to Awards / Citations on which decision have been announced.

There will be three-stage process. Firstly, the Team from the Secretariat will go through applications. Non-eligible applications will be removed at this stage. Secondly, after receiving the application by the Scrutinizing Committee members, the same will be scrutinized by them. This Team will clarify all doubts and if require, will ask applicant to make presentation. After that, Team will eliminate non-deserving applicant/s with reasons. The qualified shortlisted application/s will be circulated to Awards Selection Committee.

ICC D.M. TRIVEDI LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR CONTRIBUTION TO INDIAN CHEMICAL INDUSTRY (MANAGEMENT OF INDUSTRY AND EDUCATION & RESEARCH). (Nominations by way of invitation only.)

Secretariat will identify personalities and will put up to the Awards Selection Committee with the approval of the President.

Please note:

The nomination, clearly mentioning the category under which nomination is sent, together with enclosures thereto, if any, should be submitted in Soft Copies i.e. via e-mail to ICC Mumbai at ([email protected]). {In case the size of nomination file is big, the link for nomination including all the enclosures, annexures etc. may be provided}

    • Along with the nominations one-page financial results (Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet) of the company for the last 3 years (2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23) need to be submitted. This is for facilitating the process of scrutiny even before the company’s results are announced. Please note that the Financials of the Company as a whole is required to verify regarding Categorization based on the turn over. Therefore, kindly do not sent financial details of the Unit.
    • Applicants are expected to give relevant information as prescribed only.  Sketchy information will result into disqualification which may please be noted.
    • Nominations should be sent strictly in the prescribed format as per rules &      regulations governing ICC Awards. 

 

  • Applicants should give an Executive Summary with following criterion: 

500 words summary justifying for the Award applied which can be accompanied by 4-5 illustrations which can be graphics or pictorial

Justification should include key achievements specific to Award, benchmark carried out if any, investments made, etc.

Awards Function: 

  1. The Awards will be presented at the time of the Annual General Meeting of the ICC or at any special function which the Council may organize for this purpose (The date of ICC Awards Presentation Function will be announced once finalized)
  2. The recipient organization will be invited to nominate a representative to receive the Award.
  3. ICC Award Winning company will be invited to make presentation in the Annual Seminar on “RECOGNIZING EXCELLENCE OF PERFORMANCE IN VARIOUS FACETS OF CHEMICAL INDUSTRY” and will be on the same day in the morning of the ICC Awards presentation function
  4. ICC proposes to publish through electronic and social media about Award Winning Companies and their achievement

Entry charges for sending nominations is Rs. 20,000/-  + 18% GST

for each nomination.

In case of site-specific awards if a company applies for more than one site, then different nomination charges will be applied for different sites.
