Responsible Care for the year 2023
The “ICC – EPSILON CARBON” CERTIFICATE OF MERIT will be awarded to a winner, in the Contest for “Best Compliant Company for all the Seven Codes under Responsible Care”, separately.
The Certificate of Merit will be awarded for the following codes:
i) Process Safety Code
ii) Employee Health & Safety Code
iii) Pollution Prevention Code
iv) Emergency Response Code
v) Distribution Code
vi) Product Safety & Stewardship Code
vii) Security Code
ELIGIBILITY
SELECTION COMMITTEE
In deciding the winner of Certificate of Merit under each Code, the Executive Committee of ICC will be assisted by a Scrutinizing Committee appointed specifically for assessing the applications received for the “ICC Award for Best Responsible Care Committed Company”. The Chairman of Sustainability Committee of ICC will be the Ex-officio, Chairman of the Scrutinizing Committee. Other Member of the Committee is Officer – Sustainability, Environment and Regulatory Issues, ICC who will be Coordinator of the Committee. The Scrutinizing Committee will make its final recommendations to the Awards Selection Committee of Indian Chemical Council and decision of the latter will be final.
Based on the information given in the application form, the CEO of the contestant company will be invited to brief the Scrutinizing Committee (through Conference Call / Video Call using Virtual Platforms/ Physical Meeting) regarding performance so far achieved and about the inputs those have led to such performance. He / She is also expected to spell out the strategy for future so as to excel in Responsible Care. Presence of the CEO/Director himself/herself and no one else, is a must for this briefing, though he/she can be assisted by team of experts. This is to emphasize that for success on all such programs, involvement of top management is a must and hence the presence of CEO is a symbolic gesture to denote the same. The Scrutinizing Committee, if found necessary, may visit the site for on-the-spot study, if the travelling conditions permit.
Contesting company has required to submit the data / information in the prescribed format to be relevant to the code only.
For such site visits the TA/DA, staying and traveling arrangements and other incidental expenses of the members of Scrutinizing Committee will be borne by the Contestant Company. At site, if asked for, Committee members shall be provided with secretarial services like typing, photocopying, e-mail, fax, etc.
All other general Rules and Regulations those are applicable to any other Awards of ICC shall be applicable to this Award mutates mutandis.

Participants may also furnish, by way of additional information, soft copies of photographs; samples; literatures, etc. if so desired, in support of the Nomination.
Award Scrutinizing Committee may at its discretion nominate its representative to visit the manufacturing sites of the Company and interact with the officials of the Company.
Nomination, complete in all respects, should reach in ICC via email before Friday, 31 May 2024 along with payment of Rs. 29,500/- (Rs.25,000+18% GST) towards Entrance Fee for ICC AWARD FOR BEST RESPONSIBLE CARE COMMITTED COMPANY and Rs. 11,800/- (Rs. 10,000 + 18% GST) per CODE towards Entrance Fee for “ICC – EPSILON CARBON” CERTIFICATE OF MERIT for Best Compliant Company for the Codes under Responsible Care.
